Format: Online one-to-one lessons • Term: 12 classes (approx. 3 months)

Our Oud Classes are designed for students who wish to master the art of Oriental, Turkish, or Khaliji oud playing. Each lesson is delivered live online with a professional tutor, offering personalized feedback and a step-by-step progression plan.

🎶 What You Will Learn

• Oud Technique: right-hand control, risha (pick) movement, left-hand fingering, tuning
• Oriental Style: maqamat (Arabic scales), taqasim, traditional pieces, and improvisation
• Turkish Style: complex phrasing, makam system, phrasing ornaments, and rhythmic patterns
• Khaliji Style: regional rhythms, short taqasim, and performance grooves used in Gulf music
• Ear Training & Theory: recognize intervals, develop phrasing, and understand rhythm cycles
• Performance Practice: solo preparation, stage presence, and ensemble accompaniment

Students can also choose to prepare for ABRSM or Trinity performance evaluations with full guidance for video submissions and exam repertoire.

• Duration: 12 lessons over approximately 3 months
• Lesson Length: 45–60 minutes (adjustable)
• Individual Progress: customized lesson plan for your goals and musical style
• Practice Materials: digital sheets, audio tracks, and recommended exercises
• Exam Preparation: optional ABRSM-style training and performance coaching

🎧 What You Need

• Oud in playable condition (Arabic or Turkish tuning)
• Risha (plectrum) and tuner or tuning app
• Stable internet connection, webcam, and microphone
• Quiet practice area for lessons

Optional: Students can request help choosing an oud suitable for their level from our professional instrument advisors.

💬 Scheduling & Policy (Summary)

• Advance Payment: required for each 12-class term
• Rescheduling: allowed with at least 24-hour notice
• No-Show: missed lessons without notice are counted as delivered
